This study analyzes the complete failure of the Reich Ministry of Church Affairs under Hanns Kerrl as a deliberately dysfunctional institution. Kerrl’s ineffectiveness served Hitler’s strategy: maintaining church cooperation, consolidating power, and presenting himself as a unifying figure to the people. Based on extensive sources, the book reveals this failure as Hitler’s calculated political strategy.
